We bring smiles to people around the world
with a new culture of fine timber.
We are a sawmill in Japan, founded in 1959.
Since our establishment, we have carefully nurtured our expertise
in wood selection, wood cutting, and milling techniques, using
them to create and promote new values for fine timber.
Our efforts connect the satoyama (traditional rural woodlands) that nurture the mountains with the world,
revitalizing Japan’s satoyaman the process.
“Japanese Precious Wood and
Craftsmanship to the World”
A New Precious Wood Culture from Miyazaki,Japan
During the time when traditional Japanese rooms (washitsu) were flourishing, precious wood was the star of the timber industry.
However, with changes in housing styles, the number of washitsu has decreased, leading to a shrinking market for precious wood.
Japanese precious wood requires advanced techniques and a deep philosophy, both in its cultivation and its use.We are transforming and sharing the fading culture and beauty of precious wood in a new form.

Living a Life Passed Down Through Three Generations with ‘Sodate-mono’
The day it is completed marks the beginning of ‘Sodate-mono.’
These are items that become more beautiful and meaningful the longer they are used.
We call such items ‘Sodate-mono.’
Through these Sodate-mono, we propose a way of living where items are cherished and passed down across three generations.

Cedar

Characteristics of cedar
Cedar over 100 years old contains a high amount of natural oils and resins, yielding a significant portion of heartwood that is highly resistant to insects and humidity. This allows you to enjoy the unique glossy beauty of cedar. Over time, it ages into a rich, deep brown hue.
What is an Oshiki?
An Oshiki is a tray used to place dishes of food on. Unlike a serving tray (obon), which is used to carry food to the table, an oshiki is placed directly on the table and used as a base. While it is primarily used to hold dishes, food can also be served directly on the oshiki. It pairs beautifully with not only traditional Japanese tableware but also simple, modern Western dishes, adding an elegant touch to the dining table.

Commonly regarded as an auspicious wood, hinoki (Japanese cypress) is often used in the construction of shrines and temples.
