About ‘Sodate-mono Craft Workshop’
Using only century-old Japanese sourced precious wood,
our Hundredcedar wooden plates are crafted with care and patience.
Through these slow-made creations,
we hope to share the joy of “Sodate-mono”—items that can be cherished and
passed down across three generations.
JOY of ‘Sodate-mono’
Experience the Joy of “Sodate-mono” Through Everyday Wooden Tableware
In our workshop, we use wooden plates as an example to share simple and practical tips for daily care.
Through this activity, we hope to inspire people to cherish and maintain their wooden tools and furniture at home for years to come.

Personalize Your Wooden Plate with Oil Care
Oil is essential for the daily maintenance of wooden products.
In our workshop, we introduce wood-friendly oils and teach the basics, including drying and non-drying oils.
Participants can also experience the traditional “oil polishing” technique used for finishing in woodworking.
Every Wooden Product Has Its Own Story and Character Each piece of wood is unique, carrying its own history and charm.
In our workshop, participants will carefully select their favorite plate while appreciating the growth rings,
grain patterns, knots, and figure that make each piece special.
Through this process, they will also learn how to properly care for their chosen wooden plate.
