Commitment and Tradition

Commitment

1. Using Only Precious Wood Over 100 Years Old

We carefully count the tree rings with both our eyes and hands, ensuring that we source only authentic, century-old logs.
Trees that have grown for over a hundred years develop a high ring density, resulting in exquisitely fine and detailed wood grain when milled. Additionally, they offer exceptional durability and strength, making them ideal for timeless craftsmanship.

2. Using Only Precious Wood from Japan

We personally visit regions across Japan to carefully select and source only traceable, high-quality timber from known origins.

3. Environmentally Friendly Wood Drying

Wood drying is a crucial factor in determining the quality of timber. At our company, we combine long-term natural drying with artificial drying using biomass fuel.
This is our unique technique, designed to preserve the wood’s natural color and luster, ensuring both sustainability and superior quality.

4. It Is a ‘Sodate-mono’

The day it is completed is just the beginning of its journey. The more it is used, the richer its character becomes, evolving beautifully over time.
We call such items “Sodate-mono”—objects that grow with you, deepening in charm and value as the years pass.

Traditional craftsmanship

1. Wood Selection

We carefully select high-quality raw logs without scratches, rot, warping, or other defects, and only procure the finest wood.

2. Lumber Layout Plan

We conduct daily research to maximize the value of wood.

3. Sawmilling Techniques

Since our founding, we have been dedicated to sawmilling, utilizing our honed craftsmanship and strict selection criteria to ensure the use of only the highest quality wood.
